Logic and Discovery Studios - Grades 3-8:

Want your child to experience a structured learning environment that also builds twenty-first century skills? At OliveWood Academy, our Discovery and Logic Studios are designed to do just that! Through the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) program, students—known as eagles—learn to write with clarity, proper grammar, and strong structure. Each day, they focus on mastering core skills like math and literacy, supported by guides who help them reach their full potential. Character development is also woven into daily learning, helping eagles grow not just academically, but personally. In small group settings, eagles engage in problem-based learning—researching, designing, and creating solutions through the engineering design process. They apply the 4 C’s—communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking—in hands-on S.T.E.M. challenges and group projects. We encourage eagles to take initiative, learn from one another, and share their discoveries with the community. As eagles progress from Discovery to Logic Studio, they earn greater independence and higher expectations. With more freedom comes more responsibility—preparing them to think deeply, work diligently, and lead confidently.

Curiosity/ Explorers Studio - Grades K-2

At OliveWood Academy, we seek to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. In partnership with homeschool parents, our Curiosity and Explorers Studios combine online tools with traditional paper-based learning to build a strong foundation in literacy and math. Our approach values steady progress and celebrates each child’s individual strengths and growth areas. Beyond academics, we nurture social-emotional development, emphasizing kindness, honesty, responsibility, and problem-solving. Learning comes alive through engaging stories, hands-on projects, and quest-based topics that make every day exciting and meaningful. Early exploration of the design process teaches young eagles how to organize their thoughts, share their ideas, and bring new creations to life. They learn perseverance by experimenting, revising, and trying again when things don’t go as planned. The Curiosity and Explorers Studio is a safe, supportive space where children can take risks, explore their passions, and discover the joy of learning.
